He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Psychological Society, and the American Association of Applied and Preventive Psychology. A member of the International Certification Advisory Committee of the American Academy of Healthcare Providers in the Addictive Disorders, he is the author or editor of eighteen books.
