The HarperCollins Study Bible—Student Edition is the landmark general reference Bible that offers the full text of the New Revised Standard Version as well as in-depth articles, introductions, and comprehensive notes by today’s leading biblical scholars for the Society of Biblical Literature. Completely revised and updated, this edition incorporates the latest scholarship and findings as well as incorporating new diagrams, charts, and maps—25% revised or new material.
Led by Harold Attridge, Dean of Yale Divinity School, the Society of Biblical Literature presents this latest revision of the HarperCollins Study Bible. Reflecting a diversity of scholarship without a religious agenda, this peerless reference work is presented in a lively form for a new generation of readers.
Based on scholarship by the leading experts in the field, the HarperCollins Study Bible provides a wealth of information. Introductions to the books of the bible, accompany careful analyses of the books themselves. Concise notes clearly explain names, place, and any obscure reference. The interrelationship of the Old and New Testaments is explored. There are maps, table and charts to help the reader understand the relationship between the parts of the Bible. The literary history of the Pentateuch is also addressed, as are the Gnostic Gospels and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Scholars, clergy, and avid readers of the Bible will all appreciate the insights to be found in this comprehensive guide. Harold Attridge is Dean of Yale University Divinity School & Lillian Claus Professor of New Testament. He has made scholarly contributions to New Testament exegesis and to the study of Hellenistic Judaism and the history of the early Church. The Society of Biblical Literature is a 5,500-member international group of experts on the Bible and related fields. “Nothing is more helpful in sustaining the conversation between desk and pulpit than a good study Bible. None is more helpful than HarperCollins. Now with this revision it exceeds itself.” - Fred B. Craddock, Professor of Preaching and New Testament, Emeritus, Emory University"Riassunto" può appartenere a un’altra edizione di questo titolo.
