Health Effects of Indoor Air Pollution, Volume Two, Air Pollution, Human Health, and the Environment is part of a three volume series. This volume covers the various classifications of indoor air pollutants and discusses the health impact of indoor pollutants, such as gaseous pollutants and particulate matter. It also examines epidemiological studies related to different air pollutants on health and the workplace. This book begins with an overview of classifications, sources, and occurrences of indoor air pollutants. It also examines the environmental and health impacts due to organic and inorganic air pollutants and how to mitigate them through exposure and risk management.

Other sections explore “sick building syndrome,” which causes acute health and discomfort that appears to be linked to time spent in a building. Recent trends and control strategies for occupation exposure due to poor indoor air quality in industrial and nonindustrial workplaces to human health are also covered. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hadi Dehghani is a full professor at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, School of Public Health, Department of Environmental Health Engineering, Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran. His scientific research interests include environmental science and he is the author of various research studies published in national and international journals and conference proceedings and head of several research projects at the TUMS. He is an editorial board member, guest editor, and reviewer in many internal and international journals and a member of several international science committees worldwide. He is a supervisor and advisor for many PhD and MSc theses at the TUMS. He is currently also a member of the Iranian Association of Environmental Health and member of the Institute for Environmental Research at the TUMS.

Rama Rao Karri is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Brunei. He holds a PhD from IIT Delhi and a Master’s from IIT Kanpur in Chemical Engineering. With over 20 years of experience in academia, industry, and research, he has experience working in multidisciplinary fields and has expertise in various evolutionary optimization techniques and process modelling. His expertise extends to process modeling and simulation, focusing on optimizing chemical and environmental processes to improve efficiency and sustainability. He serves on editorial boards of several international journals and acts as a peer reviewer for numerous reputed publications. He is also a guest editor for special issues on nanocomposites and environmental engineering topics. Additionally, he contributes to authoring and editing books on sustainable technologies, environmental remediation, and process monitoring with leading academic publishers.

Dr. Teresa Vera is a chemical researcher with the CEAM Foundation at the EUPHORE installation (European Photoreactor), one of the largest research facilities in Spain and Europe to study atmospheric chemical processes. She obtained her PhD from the Valencia University and has more than 25 years of experience in the area of atmospheric chemistry.

Prof. Salwa Kamal Mohamed Hassan is a professor of air pollution chemistry in the Air Pollution Research Department at the Environment and Climate Change Research Institute, National Research Centre in Dokki, Giza, Egypt. Her main field of interest is air pollution monitoring and measurements, atmospheric photochemical reactions, the atmosphere's chemistry and chemical composition, and the study of pollutants in urban, industrial, and rural areas. She has about 30 years of experience in the area of atmospheric chemistry.
