Paperback. Running was all Captain Jesper Kelsey knew how to do.But no one can run forever, and every road has its end. Just when it finally seems safe enough to take a breath, the mistakes Jesper was running from catch up to him, and the one person who knows what he did is unlikely to let him live it down. It's only a matter of time before Jesper's past becomes the death of him.Desperately longing for a world outside her bubble-wrapped life, Karyna Marfont is willing to do whatever it takes to pursue her dreams. Even if it means leaving everything she's ever known. And when she's given the opportunity of a lifetime, she finds herself facing impossible odds and adventure unlike anything she could have imagined. But her books never could have prepared her for what lie ahead. If there was one person Ari Cadwell would take a bullet for, it would be Jesper. As Jesper's second in command, Ari doesn't doubt for a second where his loyalties lie. But life isn't as simple as it was on his family's farm. Or quite as legal. And when everything goes south, Ari must choose who to back: his blood relatives, his found family in his crew, or Jesper.Four lost souls desperately chasing the same thing: the quest for freedom in an increasingly small world. But limits are stretched, friendships are tested, and the black and white quickly start to blend together. And Jesper begins to question everything he believes and everything he stands for. They say that a hero is nothing without his villain. But how do you know which one you are before it's too late? Running was all Captain Jesper Kelsey knew how to do.
But no one can run forever, and every road has its end. Just when it finally seems safe enough to take a breath, the mistakes Jesper was running from catch up to him, and the one person who knows what he did is unlikely to let him live it down. It's only a matter of time before Jesper's past becomes the death of him.
Desperately longing for a world outside her bubble-wrapped life, Karyna Marfont is willing to do whatever it takes to pursue her dreams.
And when everything goes south, Ari must choose who to back: his blood relatives, his found family in his crew, or Jesper.
Four lost souls desperately chasing the same thing: the quest for freedom in an increasingly small world. But limits are stretched, friendships are tested, and the black and white quickly start to blend together. And Jesper begins to question everything he believes and everything he stands for.
They say that a hero is nothing without his villain. But how do you know which one you are before it's too late?
