nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Thirteen-year-old Lynn has learned never to trust her father's promises. But when he announces that the family has ten days to leave their apartment, she desperately wants to believe he will find them another home. Instead, he disappears with his belongings, leaving Lynn and her three younger siblings-Alex, Katy, and Kacy-with no money, almost no food, and no adult willing to protect them. When the eviction finally comes, the four children are forced onto the street with everything they own stuffed into garbage bags. Terrified that the authorities will separate them, Lynn makes a dangerous decision: they will hide until their father returns. But winter is closing in, their supplies are disappearing, and surviving unnoticed becomes more difficult with every passing day.Their only hope is Harrow House, an abandoned home hidden beyond an old orchard-the same house their late mother once described in the stories she told them. Although no one has lived there for years, the house seems almost to be waiting for them. Behind its damaged walls and locked doors, the children discover forgotten rooms, concealed passageways, old photographs, and letters that were written but never sent. The deeper Lynn searches, the more she begins to question everything she has been told about her mother's life, her family's past, and the accident that supposedly took her mother from them. Harrow House is more than an empty shelter. It holds the truth about why their mother was afraid, why she wanted her children to remember the house, and why someone worked so hard to keep its secrets buried. But the children are not as hidden as they believe.Footprints appear outside the windows. Alarms are disturbed during the night. Someone watches from the trees without knocking or calling their names. As sickness, hunger, and the brutal cold threaten to destroy the fragile life they have created, Lynn realizes that the greatest danger may not be the crumbling house or the winter storm trapping them inside.Their father knows where they are.And he has not returned to rescue them.To protect her siblings, Lynn must uncover the truth before the person who abandoned them destroys the evidence-and silences the children who found it. Yet accepting the truth could cost Lynn the last pieces of the family she has spent years trying to hold together.HIDDEN is a gripping and emotional suspense novel about four abandoned siblings fighting to survive, a mysterious house filled with buried secrets, and one girl's determination to keep her family together when every adult in their lives has failed them. Filled with chilling discoveries, mounting danger, heartbreaking choices, and the fierce power of sibling love, this unforgettable story asks how far children will go to protect one another-and what happens when the truth refuses to remain hidden. …
