Two octavo volumes recently bound as one in black pebbled morocco with a brown morocco spine label lettered in gilt. Notation by a number of former owners on the front and rear free endpapers and one former owner's stamp at the upper edge of the title page. Small chip at the base of the title page. Complete with both title pages. This edition issued without maps. "Generally considered the best contemporary account of the Revolution written from the British side" Sabin 91057. A few instances of pencil underlining and a few neat marginal notes. An unusually fresh copy, near fine. Codice articolo 5132
