The events of this story are rooted in an extended history of Bilbo Baggins' world, which was later developed in: The Lord of the Rings trilogy. - Condition and Description: A newly printed facsimile dustjacket that was originally designed by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1937, houses this book. It retains the price of 7s. 6d. net to the inner prelim. Reproduced from the first edition, first impression - printing which had the original error to the rear inner flap which reads the name 'Dodgeson', whereas, later printings had this corrected to read: 'Dodgson'. Enclosed in a durable plastic, archival sleeve. - Publisher's green cloth with titles and designs by the author in black. The spine colour has faded in relation to the boards front and back which have retained the colour green. Little bumped to corners, all housed beneath the amazing facsimile dustjacket.- Within the book: The publication details are pasted over with a photocopied image of Bilbo Baggins inside his house which is called Bag End. It is a luxurious hobbit-hole, or smial, built into a hillside in Hobbiton, in the Shire. 317 pages are for the majority clean and tightly bound. There are a couple of marks to pages 270/271 [picture shows these marks]. There are 14 illustrations which includes the inner front and rear boards. All present and in good order. - A real gem in the literary world. - PLUS BONUS ITEM: Photocopy of J.R.R. Tolkien's Last Will & Testament [he was worth a small fortune!], which consists of 6 pages and it bears the signature of Tolkien several times - Our orders are shipped within 1 or 2 business days.
