Riassunto:

An Urgent Call-to-Action

Eugene E. Jones, Jr. has the formula, passion and expertise to revamp and strengthen our nation's housing policy and unequal access to affordable housing. The author is an experienced housing practitioner who has successfully led 8 of the US largest housing authorities, the only American to lead one in Toronto, Canada and now the US Virgin Islands. He knows how to work with public and private sectors to create award-winning, resident-focused neighborhoods that we desperately need in our country.

Authentic Commentary

A must read. The various encounters touched upon in this book will make you appreciate the little things in life. Some people take for granted what they have, such as a roof over their head, while some people wander the dark, dangerous streets because they simply cannot afford housing. Mr. Jones is admired for standing strong, working in this industry for over 35 years and being the stern voice for the less-fortunate. Across the United States to Canada, he fought - and is still fighting today - for human rights - to house those humans; something we all should be standing for.

Key Takeaways for Readers:

• Housing is a Human Right: Having a safe home and shelter is a basic necessity to succeed and thrive in life.
• The Need for Non-Partisan Solutions: It's not a democrat or republican problem. It's a global, human crisis that every person should be invested in.
• Housers are Practitioners, not Politicians: Learn from a leader in the housing industry with a residents-first approach and over 35 years of experience.
• Housing is Holistic: Public housing is not just about homelessness or housing at subsidized rates, it's about building an ecosystem to succeed with wrap-around support systems and transit.
• Spiritual Approach in Leadership: Non-conventional, biblical lessons and analogies to align, motivate and steward compassion in leadership.
