What if the most profound crisis of our age isn't economic, but existential? What happens when the job that defined your very being simply vanishes, leaving a void of meaning and identity?
Human Capital: Life After Work is your essential roadmap to navigating the future of work and reclaiming your true self in an era reshaped by Artificial Intelligence and total automation. As traditional professions disappear and the post-labor society emerges, this groundbreaking book confronts the deepest questions facing humanity.
Are you asking:
- Why are traditional careers collapsing, and what comes next?
- How do I find meaning and purpose when labor no longer dictates my worth?
- What new skills are essential for survival in the digital age?
- Can humanity truly thrive alongside AI systems and algorithmic labor?
- How do I build a resilient identity and a meaningful life beyond workplace productivity?
Drawing on philosophy, psychology, and cutting-edge insights into the AI economy, Human Capital unveils a seismic shift in human society. This book moves beyond economic forecasts to deliver a profound personal transformation guide for anyone facing the uncertainty of tomorrow's job market.
Inside, you'll discover:
- The true impact of AI on jobs, revealing why human qualities are now your most valuable asset.
- How to redefine your identity and overcome the crisis of meaning in a post-work economy.
- Essential meta-skills for lifelong learning, adaptability, and creative problem-solving.
- The rise of new forms of employment like the gift economy, conscious consumption, and portfolio careers.
- How post-education fosters agency and unlocks human potential beyond traditional learning.
- The paradoxical alliance with AI, turning it into a creative boost and humanity's greatest augmenter.
- A new ethics of labor that prioritizes meaning, solidarity, and human dignity over profit-first models.
- The path to a Human Renaissance rooted in empathy, consciousness, and purposeful living.
This isn't a book about quick fixes or tech predictions; it's a deep, strategic playbook for anyone grappling with job displacement, career anxiety, or the search for a meaningful life in the algorithmic era. Whether you're a student, a professional facing automation, or simply seeking a roadmap for human thriving in an AI-driven world, Human Capital will revolutionize the way you think about work, value, and what it truly means to be human.

Descrizione dello Store
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
