Among his many qualities, Robert Boyce was a great teacher. Throughout his career of teaching students of all ages, he dedicated himself to inspiring students with a sense of their power to shape their lives. His tool of choice was words. His methodology was teaching how to use words with a mixture of purpose and craft. The result was instilling a true appreciation for the value of using words as a powerful and purposeful way to convey one's thoughts and ideas. This book is a collection of the poems Mr. Boyce wrote after retiring from his 40-year career as a teacher. It’s full of his wisdom, musings, thoughts, and ideas. Some of his poems are straight forward while some will require thinking—and maybe a dictionary because Mr. Boyce used to edit dictionaries. You may even come across a word or two he created that never made it into the dictionary! In that sense, this book of poems is very much like the man who wrote them. It’s interesting, entertaining, inviting, challenging, and above all, a gift to all who are willing to accept it.
