Instructor′s Notebook: How to Apply TPR For Best Results
Ramiro reveals secrets about Total Physical Response™ (known worldwide as TPR), that he discovered during 28 years of teaching Spanish to students of all ages, including adults. That stunning success inspired his students to honor him with awards of The Most Remembered Teacher and Outstanding Teacher of the Year. Ramiro guides you step by step with TPR lessons you can use in any language to keep students engaged day after day. Many games, dialogues, and even tests are included.
You will love his book, and the companion book, Instructor’s Notebook: TPR Homework Exercises. When language teachers asked Ramiro for more, he produced The Graphics Book in your choice of English, Spanish, French or German. The game that his students asked to play over and over is Ramiro’s TPR Bingo.
For a solid understanding of the powerful linguistic tool of TPR, Ramiro recommends you use his books and games after you have read James J. Asher’s classic book, Learning Another Language Through Actions, now in its 7th edition.
Ramiro Garcia earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Spanish, and a master’s degree in Linguistics from San Jose State University in San Jose, California. For 28 years, he successfully applied the Total Physical Response™ approach in teaching Spanish at Prospect High School in Saratoga, California, where he also served for 13 years as chairman of the language department.
The students selected Ramiro Garcia as their Outstanding Teacher of the Year, and the following year, he was honored by the students as The Most Remembered Teacher. He has taught Spanish also at De Anza College and for adults in night classes. Ramiro has also organized and guided tours of students to Mexico, Hawaii, and Europe.
Be sure to checkout Ramiro Garcia’s The Graphics Book, TPR Bingo, and Instructor’s Notebook: TPR Homework Exercises.
