Jeff Tang fell in love with classical AI more than two decades ago. After graduation with an MS degree in CS with AI focus on one hand and the four-volume Handbook of AI on the other, he worked on a commercial machine translation system for a couple of years. Then the AI winter came. To survive the long winter, he spent most of the following two decades on development of enterprise apps, voice apps, web apps, mobile apps, and wearable apps at AOL, Qualcomm and startups, as well as hands on management of software development teams at Baidu and other startups.
