Interpersonal Communication offers a blend of theory and skills that students can use to become “other-oriented”―mindfully considerate of the thoughts, needs, and values of others. Fueled by the authors' conviction that “skills inform principles; principles inform skills,” Interpersonal Communication: Relating to Others maintains a careful balance between theoretical and skills-oriented material.

Dalla quarta di copertina
Reviewer Praise for Beebe, Beebe, and Redmond's
Interpersonal Communication: Relating to Others
“I have enjoyed my use of this text and find it to be innovative and well able to challenge my students. It gives them the latest concepts and ideas...and has an exciting 'real world' approach that helps me achieve my goals as an instructor in this discipline.”
Adna G. Howell, Delta College
“The Beebe book provides an explicitly stated 'other' orientation, unique among interpersonal communication texts.”
Janie Harden Fritz, Duquesne University
“I think the text gives a great selection of skills materials. The sections are both thoughtful and applicable to students of any age.”
“Overall, I think the Beebe et. al text is well written and very inclusive. Their pedagogical approach and content suggest good coverage of the material. I like the way they offer a topic, how it relates to us, and how to improve that aspect of communication.”
Lisa Orick, Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute
“The book is easy to read with a pleasant writing style and attractive visual presentations on the pages.”
James Pauff, Bowling Green State University
“The language and writing is clear and easy to follow. Once again, examples and illustrations are appealing to students.”
“The authors do a great job establishing a good balance between theory and skill application throughout the text.”
Heidi McGrew, Sinclair Community College
“I like the breakdown of Foundation, Skills and Relationships―this is very workable and makes a lot of sense to me.”
“It is helpful for the students to have the 'building skills' feature listed in the front of the text.”
Lori Wisdom-Whitley, Everett Community College
