He befriended the aged veterans of the Custer fight, became adept at their sign language, and spent days in conversation with them. The old warriors lilke him, and spoke to him honestly and frrely. After years of working with them, Marquis wrote this book. He had reached a simple but shocking conclusion: the troops at Little Bighorn with Custer had panicked, and most of them had committed suicide! One hundred years after the event, this curious, fascinating book appears. Western Americana, American History, U. S. History, United States History, Americana, U.S.-iana, Custer, Battle of Little Bighorn. yslic. …
