"My knowledge of the author, Dr. Marcus "Goodie" Goodloe, began during his days of leadership demonstrated in the University of New Mexico. From that point forward, I have witnessed the development of his leadership in many arenas including his development in Golden Gate Baptist Seminary where I had the privilege of walking with him in his development as a spiritual leader. When I was asked to read this book, I was pleased to respond to that request. After reading the first draft of King Maker, I found it almost impossible to put it down. My impression was that I had watched "Goodie" write about qualities he found in the national hero "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." What he discovered in Dr. King, Dr. Goodloe had already demonstrated in his leadership for many years. As I read the manuscript, I was reminded that I had seen these qualities demonstrated already in Goodie's ministry. I am thrilled to recommend this book and will personally recommend to my many friends that they ready this wonderful testimony of the things that make leadership kings." Dr. Bill Crews, President Emeritus Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary "Nearly fifty years after his untimely death, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy continue to challenge us to live up the ideals this nation was founded upon: justice, equality, and freedom. With God as his guide and a commitment to nonviolence, King recruited people from all walks of life to help champion the Civil Rights Movement, including athletes and entertainers. King Maker brings to the forefront the leadership secrets of Dr. King that are needed for today. A must read!" Dr. Tony Evans, Senior Pastor, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship President, The Urban Alternative "Goodie is a friend I value, a leader I respect, and a father I admire. Now I have his concise new book on leadership principles from another hero of mine to promote. What better way to learn King-making than from Dr. Martin Luther King himself? Thanks Goodie for leading us in the way." Dr. E. Andrew McQuitty, Senior Pastor, Irving Bible Church Author of Notes from the Valley: A Spiritual Cancer Travelogue (Moody Publishers) "Leadership lessons are best taught through specific examples. In this practical book, Goodie Goodloe digs deeply into the life of a remarkable leader, Dr. King, and pulls out principles the rest of us can learn from. His excellent book is a fascinating account of how Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. influenced notable celebrities of his day to join the cause of Civil Rights for African Americans.
