At Number 17, every parcel has a place. The people are proving more difficult.

Dennis has kept Laurel Drive running with lists, labels and an unshakeable belief that most problems can be solved by a sufficiently clear system.

His unofficial Christmas parcel hub has passwords, queue tickets, mugs of tea and rules that everybody understands.

Almost everybody.

When Michael jumps the queue, one missing padded envelope becomes everybody’s problem. Dennis refuses to let the matter go. Michael has far too much riding on its recovery. And a quick-witted young woman with a flexible approach to other people’s belongings is about to complicate both their evenings.

What begins as a minor disagreement soon becomes a chaotic Christmas Eve expedition. Three unlikely companions. Plenty of bright ideas. An impressive ability to make things worse.

Getting along would help.

Naturally, nobody wants to go first.

Full of dry humour, festive mishaps and unexpected kindness, Left at Number 17 is a warm-hearted comedy about people who drive one another round the bend—and might just be exactly what one another needs.

A complete standalone Christmas novella.

Dry, funny and unexpectedly affecting, Left at Number 17 is a distinctly British comedy about grief, pride, loneliness and the peculiar things people do when they need one another but would rather not say so.

Don’t be right. Be kind.
You can be right later, if you still want to be.
