He wasn't looking for love. His daughter found it for him.
Nate Bennett has spent two and a half years learning to be everything for his daughter Poppy - father, mother, the steady centre of a world that lost half its warmth when his wife Katie died. He has rebuilt, carefully and quietly, a small safe life for the two of them in Juniper Bay. He is not looking for anything else. He has decided, quite firmly, never to be.
Then Poppy starts second grade, and her new teacher is Maya Torres.
Maya came to Juniper Bay to start over - leaving behind a city, a relationship, and a life that fit like someone else's coat. All she has ever wanted is a warm full family and a place to belong. She wasn't expecting to find it in a grieving widower who keeps his walls up like a man who built them for winter.
But Poppy has other ideas. And hearts, as it turns out, are like the ocean - there's always room.
A deeply felt, emotionally rich small-town romance about grief, second chances, and the family you find when you finally stop bracing for loss. A Lesson in Love is the third book in the Juniper Bay series, but can be read on its own.
Perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult, RaeAnne Thayne, and Susan Mallery - readers who want a romance that makes them laugh and cry in equal measure.
He went to the churchyard on the hill, and for the first time in two and a half years, he hadn't gone to apologize.
