Inspirational anecdotes from exceptional Americans. Ten leadership lessons are taught here through the dramatic true stories of American men and women in World War II. From Dwight D. Eisenhower and Chester Nimitz to everyday Americans who rose to leadership during the world's greatest war, these stories reflect the core values of this remarkable generation. With these inspiring accounts, today's managers and leaders will learn essential leadership tactics, such as having a vision, being a self-starter, taking care of your people, and leading by example.

Dalla quarta di copertina
The heroes of twentieth-century America were the men and women who weathered the Great Depression and won World War II. Learn from the Greatest Generation how to lead by example, take responsibility, demonstrate integrity, be a self-starter, put your people first, choose to be courageous, and other key elements of effective leadership. This volume offers ten critical lessons, each of which is illustrated by the example of a heroic American. From the bloody sands of Omaha Beach and the deadly jungles of the Pacific theater to the selflessness and strength of those on the home front, the leaders of World War II were forged in adversity.
Every aspiring leader should know these practices and follow them daily. Based on our country's core values, the lessons revealed here are rooted in the principles that led to victory in World War II and rescued millions from bondage and oppression. The lasting legacy of these heroes has the power to change lives.
Author and historian Rod Gragg has written eighteen books on topics in American history. Among his works are the award-winning George Washington: An Interactive Biography and Robert E. A popular speaker at venues throughout the country, Gragg has been featured on national media outlets such as Fox and Friends on the Fox News Network and MSNBC's Morning Joe. He is the director of the Center for Military and Veterans Studies at Coastal Carolina University, where he also serves as a lecturer and adjunct professor of history.
