An extraordinary and very scarce copy of the letter from Samuel Clarke to Dodwell, who had argued that the soul is naturally mortal but immortalized by the pleasure of God to punishment or reward by its union with the divine baptismal spirit, and none but the bishops have the power of giving this immortalizing spirit.
