At sixteen, Angelo Miele left a small town near Naples, Italy, with barely a grasp of English and a dream of becoming a doctor. Forty years later, he had built more than a career -- he had built a life devoted to faith, family, and the patients who trusted him with their health.

Life Under the Sun is the story of that journey: a boy raised on a vegetable farm who became a respected physician in the Chicago suburbs, a man whose faith deepened with every year of practice, and a doctor who never stopped asking why so many Americans still can't get the care they need.

Part memoir, part heartfelt call to action, this book moves from Dr. Miele's childhood in postwar Italy to medical mission trips in Honduras, from a defining college philosophy class to a dream of addressing a global Christian conference in Rome. Along the way, he shares his unfiltered thoughts on what's broken in the US health-care system -- and what forty years of experience taught him about fixing it.

Written for family, friends, and anyone wrestling with questions of faith, purpose, and justice, Life Under the Sun offers the reflections of a man who has spent a lifetime believing that meaning is found not in accolades, but in service to God and others.

If you're looking for a memoir that blends real medicine, real faith, and real hope for change, this is a story worth sitting with.
