Nonetheless, more than 80% of the ocean's volume remains unmapped, unobserved and unexplored. In this regard, Underwater Sensor Networks (USNs), which offer ubiquitous computation, efficient communication and reliable control, are emerging as a promising solution to understand and explorethe ocean. In order to support the application of USNs,accurate position information from sensor nodes is required to correctly analyze and interpret the data sampled. However, the openness and weak communication characteristics of USNs make underwater localization much more challenging in comparison to terrestrial sensor networks.In this book, we focus on the localization problem in USNs, taking into account the unique characteristics of the underwater environment. This problem is of considerable importance, since fundamental guidance on the design and analysis ofUSN localization is very limited at present.To this end,we first introduce the network architecture of USNs and briefly review previous approaches to the localization of USNs. Then, the asynchronous clock, node mobility, stratification effect, privacy preserving and attack detection are considered respectively and corresponding localizationschemesaredeveloped. Lastly, the book's rich implications provide guidance on the design of future USN localization schemes.The results in this book reveal from a system perspective that underwater localization accuracy is closely related to the communication protocol and optimization estimator. Jing Yan received the B.Eng. degree in Automation from Henan University, Kaifeng, China, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, China, in 2014. In 2014, he was a Research Assistant with the Key Laboratory of System Control and Information Processing, Ministry of Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. From January 2016 to September 2016, he was a Postdoc with University of North Texas, Denton, US. From October 2016 to January 2017, he was a Research Associate with University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, US. Currently, he is an Associate Professor with Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, China. Meanwhile, he is also an Associate Editor for IEEE Access. His research interests cover in underwater acoustic sensor networks, networked teleoperation systems, and cyber-physical systems. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers in leading academic journals and conferences. He has alsoreceived numerous awards, including the Excellence Paper Award from the National Doctoral Academic Forum of System Control and Information Processing in 2012, the Outstanding Doctorate Dissertation of Hebei Province in 2015, the Excellence Paper Award from the National Doctoral Academic Forum of System Control and Information Processing in 2012, the Youth Talent Support Program of Hebei Province in 2019, the Outstanding Young Foundation of Hebei Province in 2020, and the Excellence Adviser from Oceanology International Underwater Robot Competition in 2017.
Haiyan Zhao received the B.S. degree in Automation from Yanshan University, in 2017. Currently, she is pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering at Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, China. Her research interests cover in underwater acoustic sensor networks and autonomous underwater vehicle. She won the national scholarship in 2019 and presided over Postgraduate Innovation Fund Project of Hebei in 2019.
Yuan Meng received the B.S. degree in Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments from Liaoning Technical University, Huludao, China, in 2019. Currently, she is pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering at Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, China. Her research interests include localization of underwater sensor networks and networked underwater robot control. Besides that, she won the national scholarship in 2021 and presided over Postgraduate Innovation Fund Project of Hebei in 2021.
Xinping Guan received the B.S. degree in applied mathematics from Harbin Normal University, Harbin, China, in 1986, and the M.S. degree in applied mathematics and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, in 1991 and 1999, respectively. He is currently a Chair Professor with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. He has authored and/or co-authored four research monographs, more than 270 papers in IEEE and other peer-reviewed journals, and numerous conference papers. His current research interests include industrial cyber-physical systems, wireless networking and applications in smart city and smart factory, and underwater sensor networks. Dr. Guan was a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Honored by the NSF of China, the Changjiang Scholar by the Ministry of Education of China, and the State-Level Scholar of New Century Bai Qianwan Talent Program of China. He is an Executive Committee member of the Chinese Automation Association Council and the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Association Council.

Diritto legale di recesso
Hai il diritto di recedere dal presente contratto entro 14 giorni senza fornire alcuna motivazione.
Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a BuchWeltWeit Ludwig Meier e.K., Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
