Riassunto:

John J. Sweeney has dedicated his life to improving the quality of life and defending the integrity of working people. As a lifelong outspoken and forceful advocate for working people, he was never afraid of making his point loudly, even if it meant blocking a bridge or occupying an office lobby. Sweeney’s remarkable life has given him a unique perspective on the labor movement and the American economy. His memoirs are a must read for anyone interested in the history of unions in America and union members everywhere. The proceeds from the sale of hard copies of Looking Back, Moving Forward will be donated to the John J. Sweeney Scholarship at the Ulster University’s International Conflict Research Institute in Northern Ireland. The scholarship, which was launched in 2014, is a full tuition scholarship for students with a connection to the American Labor movement to obtain a Masters in Applied Peace and Conflict Studies. Information on how to apply can be found at: http://www.incore.ulst.ac.uk/courses/MSC/Scholarships/Sweeney/
