Prayer has been called "the highest activity of the human soul" and The Lord's Prayer is classical teaching on how to pray effectively. Documented evidence of answered prayer abounds in every generation and it is exciting to know that God still hears and answers prayer. Our greatest need is to learn how to pray effectively and that is why the disciples asked the Lord to teach them the secret of prayer. When they watched Him praying, they knew there was more to prayer than mere formulas. The Lord Jesus Christ touched Heaven .. and that is what they desired as well. The Lord's response is encapsulated in what is known as "The Lord's Prayer." It is a fascinating prayer because it covers every need of men, women, and children. The principles He taught are all-embracing. It is as if the Lord gave us the headings and we fill out the details. The Lord's Prayer is a prayer to be prayed - and not to be recited. The Prayer of Jabez by Dr. Bruce Wilkinson has taken the world by storm and it is an amazing little book, drawing out the principles of prayer discovered by that Old Testament saint, Jabez. It is well worth reading and taking note of.However, few realize that the Prayer of Jabez is actually fully incorporated in The Lord's Prayer. It is just a small part of the Prayer of Jesus. Every request is covered here... and more.If there have been so many exciting answers to prayer as people have made the principles of Jabez's prayer applicable in their personal lives, how much more there is for us to experience as we pray the Prayer of Jesus.Hold on to your seat belts. This devotional teaching is going to be a life-changing experience!
