This multi-color lithographed pocket map shows the new Irish capital of Dublin shortly after the country's official independence from Britain in 1937. It was based on the Ordnance Survey and published by the Irish Tourist Association. A legend in the lower left identifies over two dozen locations of interest, numbered within the image; while numerous other parks, important buildings, and public areas are individually labeled. Accompanying the map is a 24 page guide which details some of the recent history, local architecture, and itineraries for suggested tours. The verso of the map features a number of contemporary photographs and advertisements for Dublin hotels, restaurants, and retail stores. Sheet Width (in) 29.4 Sheet Height (in) 19.6 Condition Description Originally folded into 21 panels green paper covers with 21 page guide stapled to the front. The map is in fine condition, with only minor creasing along fold lines and in one or two extraneous spots. The covers are slightly faded, but in similarly good condition.
