Und dann, mit Spider-Man auf dem Cover, schoss die No. 15 des todgeweihten Heftes an die Spitze der Marvel-Bestsellerliste des Jahres, und der Rest ist Geschichte. Amazing Spider-Man, das sieben Monate später erschien, brach mit allen Comics-Traditionen. Peter Parker lebte im uncoolen Queens, war immer pleite, machte sich andauernd Sorgen um seine Tante May, hatte Pech in der Liebe und wurde ständig von seinem Chef J. Jonah Jameson angeschrien, dem Herausgeber des Daily Bugle. Spider-Man hatte die Schlagfertigkeit und das Selbstvertrauen, die Parker fehlten, aber es war nicht immer leicht, seine Kräfte zu nutzen. Oft schien er am Rande einer Niederlage gegen die Schurkengalerie klassischer Gegner, die in den ersten Jahren auftraten: Geier, Doctor Octopus, Sandmann, Echse, Electro, Kraven der Jäger, Mysterio und der Grüne Kobold. Ein großer Teil des Erfolges von Spider-Man ist seinem Miterfinder und Zeichner Steve Ditko zu verdanken, der ein Händchen für die Darstellung von Teenagern und ihren Problemen hatte. Seine Zeichnungen verliehen Spider-Man eine leichtfüßige Dynamik, und auch wenn sich vielleicht viele Menschen vor Spinnen fürchteten, das Schwingen an den Fäden durch New York ließ Ditko wie das coolste Abenteuer überhaupt aussehen. Dieser Sammlertraum im XXL-Format enthält die ersten 21 Geschichten des allseits beliebten Netzschwingers aus den Jahren 1962-1964 und ist annähernd so groß wie die Originale. Anstatt die Vorlagen neu zu kolorieren (wie es bei den Nachdrucken klassischer Comics aus früheren Jahrzehnten der Fall war), hat TASCHEN darauf Wert gelegt, die Hefte so darzustellen, wie sie zum Zeitpunkt ihrer Veröffentlichung aussahen. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit Marvel und der Certified Guaranty Company wurden die makellosesten Comics aufgeschlagen und für die Reproduktion abfotografiert. Jede Seite wurde so fotografiert, wie sie vor mehr als einem halben Jahrhundert gedruckt wurde, und dann mit modernen Retuschetechniken digital überarbeitet, um die Fehler des billigen, unvollkommenen Drucks der damaligen Zeit zu korrigieren - so, als käme sie frisch aus einer erstklassigen Druckmaschine der 1960er Jahre. When Stan Lee first pitched the idea of Spider-Man in 1962, his boss was full of objections: People hate spiders. Teenagers aren’t lead characters; they’re sidekicks. He should be glamorous and successful, not a friendless loser. But Stan persisted and Martin Goodman let him give the unlikely hero a tryout in Amazing Fantasy, which was already slated for cancellation. With Spider-Man on the cover, No. 15 shot to the top of Marvel’s best-seller list for the year, and the rest is history.
Amazing Spider-Man, which debuted seven months later, broke the comics mold. Peter Parker lived in uncool Queens, was always broke, continually worried about his Aunt May, was unlucky in love, and was constantly getting yelled at by his boss, Daily Bugle publisher J. Jonah Jameson. Spider-Man had the quips and confidence that Parker lacked, but learning to use his powers wasn’t always easy. He often seemed on the verge of defeat against the rogue’s gallery of classic foes that debuted in the first couple of years: Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Lizard, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, and the Green Goblin. Much of the credit for Spider-Man’s greatness goes to co-creator and artist Steve Ditko, who had a knack for portraying teenagers and their problems. His artwork infused Spider-Man with a loose-limbed energy, and, while maybe everyone was scared of spiders, Ditko made swinging through New York seem like the coolest adventure ever.
This XXL-sized collector’s dream, close in size to the original artworks, features the first 21 stories of the world’s favorite web slinger from 1962–1964. Rather than recolor the original artwork (as has been done in previous decades’ reprints of classic comics), TASCHEN has attempted to create an ideal representation of these books as they were produced at the time of publication. The most pristine pedigreed comics have been cracked open and photographed for reproduction in close collaboration with Marvel and the Certified Guaranty Company. Each page has been photographed as printed more than half a century ago, then digitally remastered using modern retouching techniques to correct problems with the era’s inexpensive, imperfect printing―as if hot off of a world-class 1960s printing press. Three different paper stocks, including an uncoated and woodfree paper, were exclusively developed for this series to simulate the feel of the original comics.
With an in-depth historical essay by Marvel editor Ralph Macchio, an introduction by uber-collector David Mandel, and original art, rare photographs, and other gems, these 698 pages of wall-crawling wonder will make anyone’s spider-sense tingle with anticipation.

Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a Wegmann1855, Zwiesel, Germany, +49 22609490, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
