The first underwater tunnel (Thames), the longest suspension bridge (Clifton), the greatest railway system (Great Western), the fastest locomotive, the biggest war ship, the first transatlantic steamboat. These are the works of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Victorian engineer extraordinaire and undoubtedly the last engineering giant of the Industrial Revolution.
The inventions of Brunel and other pioneering engineers of the time ensured that Britain was the hub of the industrial world. As well as Brunel, there were other pioneering engineers of the time including Stevenson who managed to float a railway across a bog and Telford who, with no formal training, went on to build some of the finest canals and bridges in the country.
This is a wonderful illustrated record of some of the greatest engineering feats of the Industrial Revolution and will include blueprints, engravings, letters and diary extracts.

Our base is near Billingshurst, West Sussex UK. We have been book collecting for 30 years. Our books are stored at the appropriate steady temperature and humidity. We offer rare and out of print books primarily to collectors. We normally describe the condition of boards and spines separately and in addition to contents. For magazines and leaflets we use the book description box to describe the CONTENTS and the jacket box to describe the covers. To assist collectors we try and offer magazines individually (subject to a minimum order value of £10 + P&P). For a number of the more valuable books photographs are avaialable on our website. Some have multiple images and there are both small and large images available. Either click "ask bookseller a question" or e mail us direct to access the picture gallery. For queries made through our BiancoLibrary website we can provide images "scanned to e-mail" for books vlaued at over 20 pounds or so. Please bear in mind that these scans cover boards and plates etc but cannot always accommodate spines. In some cases we can also fax black and white copies. We ask customers not to abuse this service.…

We use the following Condition Categories: Virtually as New, Excellent, Very good, Good and Working Copy. Virtually as new means no apparent defects, price clipping or marks. For magazines and leaflets we use the first condition to describe the CONTENTS and the second condition for the COVERS. For the more valuable books many have photographs available. Sometimes multiple images are available at our website (accessed through our homepage). Our written descriptions assume and rely upon the customer looking at all the pictures provided. Our base is near Billingshurst, West Sussex, UK. We have been book collecting for 30 years. Sterling Cheques payable to Bianco Team please, drawn on a UK bank. For Credit Card sales please use the ABE shopping basket online buy now facility. Customers wishing to pay using PayPal please ensure you pay in sterling and always quote the book reference number. If you press the ABE order button, then the automated ABE system takes over. We try to dispatch within 3 working days of our acceptance of your confirmed order. It helps enormously if when you contact us you give your address so we know where you are to quote postage and whether you want books to go airmail or surface and whether they are to be insured. Please be aware that for uninsured parcels we obtain a postage receipt after which shipping is at customer's risk. We must have the code ref for the book you are inquiring about so we make sure we send you the right one we have more than one copy of a number of items. Our website automatically covers all this and gives the actual cost and options for postage and insurance. Discounts are negotiable for existing customers on orders in excess of £50 involving 3 or more books bought. Buying more than one book economizes on postage; use the link above to 'browse our inventory'. Click on one of our 70 plus book categories and click 'list all books'. This link also provides access to Meccano, Hornby, trains plus Point of Sale literature. Postage is charged extra with a minimum of £3.65 for small orders under £19 to UK addresses. We do not have a shop with permanently manned telephones therefore, please use e-mail or fax to correspond. To assist collectors we offer magazines individually (subject to a minimum order value of £10 + P&P). For new customers we reserve the right to allow time for Cheques to clear before books are dispatched. Books can only be returned with prior agreement. Normally we would expect the customer to bear the return postage/insurance cost.

Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a BIANCOLIBRARY, BILLINGSHURST, West Sussex, United Kingdom, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
