This book introduces a quantum-mechanical description of the nuclear fission process from an initial compound state to scission. Issues like the relevant degrees of freedom throughout the process, the way of coupling collective and intrinsic degrees during the fission process, and how a nucleus divides into two separate daughters in a quantum-mechanical description where its wave function can be non-local, are currently being investigated through a variety of theoretical, computational, and experimental techniques.
The term “microscopic” in this context refers to an approach that starts from protons, neutrons, and an effective (i.e., in-medium) interaction between them. The form of this interaction is inspired by more fundamental theories of nuclear matter, but still contains parameters that have to be adjusted to data. Informazioni sull’autore
Walid Younes received his Ph.D. in nuclear physics from Rutgers University in 1996, and is currently a member of the nuclear theory and modeling group at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. In 2006 he launched a program with Daniel Gogny to develop a microscopic theory of fission. Together, they developed a quantum-mechanical description of scission.
Daniel Marc Gogny, born June 20, 1938, passed away on May 25, 2015. In the 1970’s he developed a finite-range effective interaction that has since become a standard used throughout the field of nuclear physics. He worked for the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) of France for 40 years. In 1998 he was appointed by the CEA to be scientific liaison to the French at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and moved to California. Gogny retired from the CEA in 2004 but continued to mentor doctoral students and work with his collaborators such as Walid Younes at LLNL for the next 11 years.
Jean-François Berger, now retired from the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique, received his Docteur d’Etat in physical sciences from the Université Paris Sud in 1985. He worked with D. Gogny at the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) of France at Bruyeres le Châtel from 1973 to 1988, in particular on the topic of nuclear fission. In the early 1980’s Drs. Hai il diritto di recedere dal presente contratto entro 14 giorni senza fornire alcuna motivazione.
Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).

Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.

Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a buchversandmimpf2000, Emtmannsberg, BAYE, Germany, +49 09209-2023188, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
