Paperback. The Mind vs. the Algorithmby Denise Pilar, Ph.D. The world has changed. What about your organization? We live in an era where products and servicesno longer sufice. The modern consumer seeks meaning, representativeness and, above all, memorable experiences. But if the necessity to focus on the customer is obvious, why is it that so many companies still fight to implement well devised stratetegies? In this thought-provoking work, the author explores the invisible barriers that hinder organizational evolution in Brazil and all over the world. What You Will Find in This Book: The Rise of the Experience Economy: Understand how coffee evolved from a simple, low-cost commodity into a high-value, theatrical experience. The Enigma of Resistance: Discover why "resistance to change" is not always an employee failing, but often a reflection of communication breakdowns and a loss of trust on the part of leaders.Immunity to Change: Drawing on the research of Kegan and Lahey (Harvard), the book reveals how our minds create protective systems to maintain the status quo, thereby hindering personal and professional growth.Mental Complexity and Leadership: A guide to the three plateaus of adult development-the socialized mind, the self-authoring mind, and the self-transforming mind-and how each impacts the ability to lead in uncertain times.Technical vs. Adaptive Challenges: Learn to distinguish between problems that require new skills and those that demand a profound shift in mindset.Who Is This Book For?It is ideal for executives, HR managers, entrepreneurs, organizational psychologists, and any professional wishing to understand the human dynamics behind innovation.
