Nyra moves through the city like a rumor — present, then gone, leaving nothing behind but a man who lay down and didn't get up. She has rules. Rigid, centuries-old, non-negotiable. She only takes men who believe consequences don't apply to them. She waits to be invited. She never takes more than she needs.

The rules have held for five centuries.

Then a stranger steps out of the dark in the middle of a kill and says don't — and the rules start to bend.

Cael Mourne has been watching her for three months. He knows what she is. He knows what she does. He has stood in the rain with a body on the pavement between them and looked at her without flinching, without fear, without the instinct to step back that every other person in five hundred years has had the sense to follow.

His pulse doesn't change when she gets close.

It has always changed. For everyone. That is how she knows.

What begins as an anomaly becomes an investigation. Someone is replicating her method — using the architecture of what she does, stripped of the only thing that made it something other than predation: the rule. Six deaths. Wrong targets. Her signature, weaponized by someone who understands the mechanism but not the morality. And behind it, an operation that has been watching her for longer than Cael has — one that knows exactly what she is, and has spent years deciding what to do about it.

Nyra has survived five centuries by staying precise, staying invisible, and staying alone.

Cael Mourne is making all three of those things increasingly difficult.

She Doesn't Miss is the first book in The Vital Dark Trilogy — a slow-burn paranormal dark romance about a woman who has been a predator since before the city existed, the man whose biology answers hers for the first time in five hundred years, and the crossing that changes what both of them are.

For readers who want a heroine who is genuinely dangerous. A love interest who moves toward the threat instead of away from it. A mythology that earns every beat before it pays off.

Descrizione dello Store

We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
