Weary of her Yorkshire county life of grouse moors and hunt balls, Amelia Dalton threw herself instead into a brand new challenge unlike anything she'd encountered before: running a deep sea trawler amongst the closed community of fishermen in North East Scotland in the '90s. Unprepared by her background in cookery and antiques, she finds herself negotiating red tape, overseeing shipyards and dealing with engineers and industrial tribunals, all while coping with demanding shareholders and drunken employees. What began as a love affair with the romance of the sea became a battle to stay afloat - financially and literally. Can Dalton rise to this exceptional challenge? Or will she sink amongst the trials and tribulations of life away from the shore? Mistress and Commander by Amelia Dalton is a lively account of an adventure like no other - and a voyage of self-discovery. Stories of adventure shared with fond memory, many a laugh, a few tears, and an occasional shudder. -- The Bookbag. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. …

In 2002, World of Books Group was founded on an ethos to do good, protect the planet and support charities by enabling more goods to be reused. Since then, we've grown into to a global company pioneering the circular economy. Today, we drive the circular economy through three re-commerce brands: - Wob: Through Wob, we sell. We provide affordable, preloved books and media to customers all over the world. We give people around the world the opportunity to contribute to the circular economy, earn money and protect the planet, by trading their unwanted books and media. - Shopiago: Through Shopiago, we help others.
