Abraham Adrian Albert was one of the 20th century's leading mathematicians. Abraham Adrian Albert (1905–1972) taught at the University of Chicago from 1931 until the end of his life and was Chairman of the Mathematics Department from 1958 until 1962. He wrote several highly regarded books on algebra, including The Structure of Algebras and Modern Higher Algebra. Dover also publishes his books An Introduction to Finite Projective Planes (with Reuben Sandler) and Solid Analytic Geometry.
