Tribal sovereignty means that these nations must be honored as distinct political entities and treated as nations. All citizens of the US have civil rights, but for many Native Americans, it has been a struggle to have these rights affirmed and recognized. She is a life-long student of Indigenous history and federal Indian policy with a Bachelor of Arts in American Indian Studies and Master of Tribal Administration and Governance from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
