The true story of an Anglo-Saxon Prince, who became an outcast, who became a legend.
Offa: Rise of the Englisc Warrior is an adventure story that explores the wolf-cult of Wōden and the Pagan traditions of Yule.
399 A. D.
It was the twelfth night of Yule, the Winter Solstice, the Night of the Dead. Standing alone on the island, before hundreds of enemy warriors, surrounded by an otherworldly mist, clad in a wolf pelt, his flesh painted black like the heroes of old, his heart beating to the sound of enemy drums, Offa, aged thirteen, stood firm, Stedefæst in hand; refusing to show fear or intimidation. He wasn't fighting for fame, for the Gods, or for personal honour. He was fighting for his father, a waning Kingdom, and to restore the honour and grace of the noble Englisc folk. His fight would become legend!Set in the mysterious, wolf-haunted forests of North Germania, amid the warring tribes of the late 4th Century, comes the true story of an Anglo-Saxon hero. It is the coming-of-age tale of a young boy who goes through rigorous and dangerous training in the wild, confronting great and terrifying beasts. After facing isolation and abandonment, Offa, son of King Wǣrmund, witnesses the fall of his clan, before single-handedly defending his people against Saxon invaders, in the most famous fight in Anglo-Saxon history.
''The future of the Englisc race rested delicately on the sharpened edge of Stedefæst.''
