Aggiungere al carrelloUnique photo album from the Vietnam War era, dating between 1964 and 1965, housed in an illustrated Okinawa album. Includes 105 mostly black-and-white prints, measuring approximately 5 1/2 X 2 1/2 inches. Images depict a group of young recruits stationed at a field camp in Okinawa, Japan, with a combination of both staged and candid shots. An intimate portrait of American soldier life, the album features photos of GI's engaging in horseplay, posing with firearms, and training in the surrounding region of Okinawa. Photographs are adhered to the pages and protected by clear mylar sheets. Arresting document of solider camaraderie, at times bordering on the homoerotic; images with soldiers pointing guns at each other are particularly chilling and evocative. Photographs in uniformly nice condition, internally near fine, album is edgeworn with splits at the plastic covering the spiral binding, else very good in illustrated boards.
