Crown, half brown leather + brown cloth, raised bands, wear to leather corners but stablised, gold blocking on spine with label, episcopal crest on front, marbled edges, orig. blue eps., joints starting to crack but still sound, ex-Llandaff Cathedral & College library with two bookplates. Vg, xi+193 pp. V. sl. occasional foxing for a page or two at ends. Bishop Gibson traces in some detail the background Old Testament influence (& briefly the Apocrypha) on the New, not so much the direct quotes but the background ideas and allusions. A valuable work that has not lost its value with time. Size: Crown.
