PROCESSUS CONTRA TEMPLARIOS Exemplaria Praetiosa Project – Vatican Secret Archives, A.A. Armadium D208, 209, 210, 217. Worldwide edition limited to 799 copies, each numbered and authenticated by the Prefect of the Vatican Secret Archives. A faithful historical reproduction of the original. The volume contains texts printed on specially manufactured watermarked cotton paper, with rare illustrations and three engravings by Domenico Marchetti (1840), together with the commentaries on the Templar trial preserved in the Vatican Secret Archives. Includes faithful reproductions of: - Parchments from the Archivium Arcis containing the interrogations and confessions of the Knights Templar, including Jacques de Molay, extending to approximately six metres in length. - The Chinon Document from the Archivium Arcis (Armadium 217) and the private dossier of Pope Clement V from the Avignon Register 48. - The red wax seals of the Cardinal Inquisitors Bérenger Frédol, Pietro Colonna and Pierre de la Chapelle. The sewing and binding were executed by hand in tanned goatskin according to traditional methods, with impressions in genuine gold leaf to the boards and spine. Dimensions: 29 x 45 Includes certificate and technical documentation. Scrinium Editions, completed in May 2007. Accompanied by the supplementary volume, the first complete critical transcription of the trial records, with translations in English and Italian, including the interrogation and confession of Grand Master Jacques de Molay. The complementary volume includes a presentation by Mons. Sergio Pagano, Prefect of the Vatican Secret Archives, a historical introduction by Barbara Frale, and is curated by Marco Maiorino and Pierpaolo Piergentili. Also printed on watermarked cotton paper and bound in full-grain vegetable-tanned leather. Hand-sewn and hand-bound following traditional methods, with wooden boards covered in silk and a leather overbinding. Same copy number: 662/799. Scrinium Editions, completed in March 2009. Includes technical documentation. The leather of the supplementary volume shows slight, uneven darkening.
