"The Pastor According to the New Code of Canon Law" is an authoritative and practical guide designed to assist clergy in navigating the complexities of ecclesiastical legislation following the monumental shift in church law during the early 20th century. Written by the esteemed Benedictine scholar, The Reverend P. Chas. Augustine, this work offers a meticulous examination of the pastoral office as defined by the 1917 Code of Canon Law.

The text provides a detailed analysis of the rights, duties, and functions of the parish priest, covering essential topics such as the appointment of pastors, their spiritual and temporal jurisdiction, the administration of the sacraments, and the management of parish property. It serves as both a legal commentary and a manual for pastoral practice, ensuring that the duties of the office are performed in strict accordance with the church's universal laws.
