Improper disposal of pharmaceutical is having an adverse impact on the environment and human health worldwide The waste and disposal problem starts with the production of active pharmaceutical ingredient and finishes with the final disposal of a pharmaceutical product. Pharmaceutical waste many also contaminate the environment through improper incineration or landfill placement. The risk of disposal in the sewage system or in landfill is that the drug will ultimately reach the water cycle either by direct contamination or by leaching form landfill sites.
L'autore: Dr. Deepak Pant currently working as an Associate Professor in Dolphin (PG) Institute, Dehradun, is the recipient of Silver Jubilee Research Fellowship award for the year 2003 by Kumaun University, Nainital (India); Young Scientist Award 2009, INSA Fallow 2010 and SERC Young Scientist Award 2011 for his research activities.
