Ash drifts upon the wind. Rivers carry strange warnings. Far away, mountains breathe fire into the sky, and the world Aroha has always known begins to change. As families flee, warriors search, ancestors whisper and ancient creatures move through the mist, one young woman's journey becomes part of a much larger story, a story of loss, survival, wonder and the enduring power of home.Set in 1314 A.D. during one of the greatest volcanic events in New Zealand's history, The Pink and White Terraces Part Two: Aroha's Journey carries readers into a lost Aotearoa of sacred waters, giant birds, hidden valleys and landscapes that remember everything. Far beneath the sacred waters of Rotomahana, the land has begun to stir.
Aroha's mother has been taken north by strangers, and every broken fern, every bent reed, every footprint in the mud becomes part of a desperate trail. Guided by love, courage and the wisdom of those who still listen to rivers, Aroha follows her mother into forests, valleys and darkening skies.
But across Aotearoa, something greater than any human quarrel is awakening.
Birds fall silent. Ash drifts upon the wind. Rivers carry strange warnings. Far away, mountains breathe fire into the sky, and the world Aroha has always known begins to change.
As families flee, warriors search, ancestors whisper and ancient creatures move through the mist, one young woman's journey becomes part of a much larger story, a story of loss, survival, wonder and the enduring power of home.
Set in 1314 A.D. during one of the greatest volcanic events in New Zealand's history, The Pink and White Terraces Part Two: Aroha's Journey carries readers into a lost Aotearoa of sacred waters, giant birds, hidden valleys and landscapes that remember everything.
