His Pocket Dictionary of the English Language has been prepared on a plan essentially approved by Dr. Worcester shortly before the close of his labors. At that time some specimen pages were set up, and the present compiler had begun to prepare the manuscript of the work. Dr. Worcester's death caused the task to be deferred till a recent date.

It will be seen that the Vocabulary contains a large num ber of words. They are such as will be most frequently looked for in a work of this kind.
