Energy is everywhere—yet the vast infrastructuralnetworks that power our daily lives remain largely invisible. Accounting forthree-quarters of global greenhouse gas emissions, energy systems stand at thecenter of our climate crisis and the transformations needed to address it. Thisbook examines energy supply as a spatial and material phenomenon, exploring theBerlin-Brandenburg capital region through maps, drawings, texts, andphotographs. It reveals the hidden geographies connecting energy production andconsumption across scales—from household transformations to citywideconfigurations and regional supply networks. Tracing the flow of fossil andrenewable energy carriers through territories, towns, and streets, Power,Flows, and Transformation offers a multi-layered portrait of our energylandscapes past, present, and future. In doing so, the book illuminates thecomplex assemblages and diverse localities that define and support our urbanstructures today, unearthing how these will shape the territorialreconfigurations of tomorrow’s energy geography.
