The Problem of Population. Questo articolo non è disponibile. The Problem of Population

"The Problem of Population" is a compelling examination of the socio-economic and ethical challenges posed by human demographic growth. Written by Harold Cox, this work explores the intricate relationship between population density and the well-being of society, arguing that uncontrolled expansion presents a significant threat to global stability and individual prosperity. Cox provides a thorough analysis of Malthusian principles, applying them to the realities of the early 20th century while advocating for a more rational approach to reproduction and social planning.

The text delves into several critical themes, including the economic consequences of overpopulation, the ethics of birth control, and the environmental constraints of the natural world. Cox addresses the moral responsibilities of the state and the individual, suggesting that the quality of life should take precedence over sheer numbers. By linking demographic trends to issues of poverty, unemployment, and international conflict, "The Problem of Population" offers a historical perspective on debates that continue to shape modern social policy and economic thought. This work serves as a significant contribution to the fields of demography and social ethics.
