Proceedings of International Conference on Industrial Instrumentation and Control : ICI2C 2021

<p>This book is a collection of selected high-quality research papers presented at the International Conference on Industrial Instrumentation and Control (ICI2C 2021), organized by the Department of Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India, during 20–August 22, 2021. It includes novel and innovative work from experts, practitioners, scientists and decision-makers from academia and industry. It covers topics such as instrumentation application in industry, instrumentation in electrical applications and instrumentation in recent trends with computation approach.</p>

<p>Prof. Subhasis Bhaumik did B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and M. E. in Production Engineering. After post-graduation, he joined in TATA STEEL, Jadavpur University, joint research project for development of a robotic system for steel plant application. He did Ph.D. in the area of robotics.&nbsp;He has served as a faculty of Birla Institute of Technology (Deemed University), Mesra, Ranchi, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (Deemed University), Patiala, and Regional Engineering College (NIT) Durgapur.&nbsp;He is currently working as Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology Shibpur. He is also former Head of School of Mechatronics & Robotics in IIEST, Shibpur. His research interest is mechatronics, robotics, smart material, CAD/CAM/industrial automation, assistive devices, innovative product development and BCI/HMI and rural technology. He is the principal investigator of sponsored projects of Indo-US Fabrionics, BRNS-BARC, DST, AICTE, UGC, Larsen & Toubro, IE(I), DST-FIST and MHRD, National Initiative on Design Innovation. He has guided nine Ph.D. theses, and presently, he is guiding three Ph.D. works. He has published more than 80 research papers in SCI journals and international conferences. Two innovative products have been filed for patent.&nbsp;He is Fellow of Institution of Engineers (I), Member of Association of Machines and Mechanism, Robotics Society of India and Expert Member, Rehabilitation Council of India.&nbsp;He was Zonal Vice President of Association of Machines and Mechanism, editorial board member and member of Robotics Society of India.&nbsp;He is presently acting as Dean (Research & Consultancy) and President, IIC, IIEST, Shibpur.</p><p>Prof. Subrata Chattopadhyay was born in India in 1965. He received his Ph.D. (Tech) in Instrumentation&nbsp; Engineering&nbsp; from&nbsp; the&nbsp; University&nbsp; of&nbsp; Calcutta,&nbsp; India,&nbsp; in&nbsp; 2006,&nbsp; preceded&nbsp; by M.Tech. [Instrumentation], B.Tech. [Electrical] and B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics , in 1993, 1991&nbsp; and 1987. respectively. He served as Deputy Manager [Projects & Maintenance] in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering of Chemical and Manufacturing Industries in India and then joined as Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering Department of National Institute of Technical&nbsp; Teachers’&nbsp; Training&nbsp; and&nbsp; Research,&nbsp; Kolkata,&nbsp; under&nbsp; Ministry&nbsp; of&nbsp; Human&nbsp; Resource Development,&nbsp; Government&nbsp; of&nbsp; India,&nbsp; in&nbsp; 2003.&nbsp; At&nbsp; present,&nbsp; he&nbsp; is&nbsp; working&nbsp; as&nbsp; Professor&nbsp; in Electrical&nbsp; Engineering&nbsp; and&nbsp; is in-charge&nbsp; of&nbsp; NITTTR&nbsp; Kolkata Extension&nbsp; Centre,&nbsp; Bhubaneswar, India.&nbsp; He&nbsp; was introduced&nbsp; as&nbsp; Head&nbsp; of&nbsp; Electrical&nbsp; Engineering&nbsp; Department,&nbsp; a&nbsp; new&nbsp; PostGraduate Programme&nbsp; [M.&nbsp;Tech.&nbsp; in&nbsp; Mechatronics&nbsp; Engineering],&nbsp; first&nbsp; of&nbsp; its&nbsp; kind&nbsp; in&nbsp; Eastern&nbsp; India&nbsp; at NITTTR Kolkata, with required development of the Department to accommodate the same. He is highly involved in teaching and research, and his present investigation is on innovation of noble techniques of measurement and control based on sensor and transducer development, process automation, PLC and distributed control system, mechatronics, robotics, etc. He has guided&nbsp; one&nbsp; research&nbsp; scholar who&nbsp; has&nbsp; been&nbsp; awarded&nbsp; with&nbsp; Ph.&nbsp;D.&nbsp; (Tech.)&nbsp; degree&nbsp; from&nbsp; the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India. Presently, five scholars are working under him for the Ph.D. degree. He has around 100 papers in international and national journals andconference proceedings.</p><p>Dr. Tanushyam Chattopadhyay is currently working as Principal Scientist at TCS Research and Innovation Labs. He started his career as research in Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and later on, he joined Tata Consultancy Services Limited in 2004. He was awarded Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University for the work done at ISI, Kolkata, in 2012. He has nearly 55+ patents got granted across the globe. He also authored a book and some book chapters. He has published nearly 70+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is a member of International Machine Learning Society. He is serving as a member of Board of Governor of several academic institutions. His current research is evolved around developing an analytics solution for TCS built IoT platform, namely TCS Connected Universe Platform (TCUP), which involves both research and engineering in different areas of data science. He was awarded with many prizes like: Winner of the WWW 2011&nbsp; Software Contest, Winner of Computer Society of India Young IT Professional Award in region level and awarded with special mention award in national level, Significant Contribution Award from CSI in 2012–2013. From TCS, he got the awards like Patent Champion (twice) for the years 2010–2011 and 2014–2015, Star of the Month in January 2010 and November, 2005, Best Team of TCS for the month in August 2010, Top 100 C Coder of TCS in March, 2009, Young Innovator in 2007. He was awarded with the University Gold (1st Class 1st) medal in MCA., First Class Third in graduation (Physics as Major).</p>Dr. Srijan Bhattacharya is working as Assistant Professor & Head in the Department of Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, (AEIE) in RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India. He did B.E. in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from Gandhi Institute of Engineering & Technology (presently GIET University), Orissa, India (2003), and M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (Specialization Mechatronics) from National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research, Kolkata, India (2008). and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, India (2017). He received Gold Medal from West Bengal University of Technology, West Bengal [Presently Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT)]. He had published book title—“Advancements in Instrumentation and Control in Applied System Applications”—as single editor with IGI Global, USA, and presently, one edited book is under process on “Ionic Polymer Metal Composite (IPMC)-Present Scenario and Next Generation Research” with CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group. He is the guest editor for Springer Journal of “The Institution of Engineers (India): Series B”. He has published 30+ peer-reviewed journals/book chapter/conference papers and completed one research project sponsored by—Institution of Engineers (India)—IE(I). He had served as the keynote/invited speaker/mentor-Judge in different events (AICTE, ISRO, University’s etc.). He has established several international/national MOU/collaborations. He had organized more than 35 events (international conference, FDP, workshop, etc.) He has been involved with academic administration as Board of Studies—Member (AEIE) MAKAUT, West Bengal. Coordinator of—Student Chapter RCCIIT—The Robotics Society (TRS)—India. He is a senior member of IEEE (M’16, SM’20). His research interest is in mechatronics system design, sensors design and application, smart material—ionic polymer metal composite (IPMC).<br><p></p><br>
