Much has been said about spirituality, philosophy, and inspiration; The Prophet says it all.

Kahlil's The Prophet is a collection of 26 prose poems. It was published in 1923, has sold over nine million copies in the US alone, and has been translated into over twenty languages.

Spanning twenty-eight chapters and accompanied by artwork, Kahlil delves into life and the human condition and brings forth a wealth of knowledge and spirituality that transcends the orthodoxy of everyday life and the dogmatism of organised religion. The prophet is incredibly nuanced and filled with themes that will speak to you at different stages of your life. Love, marriage, children, time, work, joy and sorrow, crime and punishment, freedom, reason and pain, friendship, good and evil, pleasure, prayer and death. Each chapter bears a deep wisdom that comes from experience, a higher spirituality and altruism.

Whether you are Jewish, Christian or Muslim or your religious beliefs are faint or non-existent, Kahlil's work is not one that seeks to change or convert you. It is one that will help you explain the true meaning of life and its complexities. You'll find this book beautiful and devastating, in the best of ways.
