The past and present History of the Pytchley Hunt was prepared for publication by its lamented Author, with great care and with no slight pleasure, in the hope that it might interest and amuse not the Hunting-world alone, but also a more extended circle of readers. Owing to the sad fact that the manuscript was completed only one day before his unexpected death, there was no opportunity for giving any finishing touches, or correct ing any oversights.
