A traveler rides the rails from Colorado to Massachusetts to Maine to Salt Lake City, Utah back to Colorado, at least according the chronology of this photo album. There a total of 92 snapshot photographs across 25 rigid leaves/49 pages. Many places are noted either in written pencil on page or within the image on signs. In one image, a trolley car in the city s center indicates the location as Lake City, Colorado. Along the coast, the viewer is taken to Saco, Maine and to Marblehead, Massachusetts. At times, we are looking down the tracks, or we are looking out as the landscape blurs by. The cameraman focuses on town centers, on trolleys and trains, motorcars, bicycles, churches, homes, power lines, and fruit cars. In Saco, Maine, we see the hydro-powered factory building along the river. The majority of photographs are black and white, some of which are faded. There are 22 cyanotypes that are bright blue. The album pages are cover are loose/without binding.
