Ben is always making something. His latest idea is the Clicker, a device he has imagined and drawn in careful detail. He puts the pieces together, changes a wire, tries another spring—and still nothing happens.

When Ben starts to doubt the idea itself, Rafiki joins him in the workshop. Their conversation opens into an imagined universe of gears, springs, and sparks, where Ben can look at his problem in another way.

Rafiki and the Inventor is an illustrated story about experimenting, pausing to think, and returning to a difficult idea. Ben’s choices drive the making. The adult note separates the fictional companion from real AI and encourages children to explore their ideas with a trusted adult.
