Black cloth/boards. Pale green metallic lettering. 40 pp. with color images throughout. The Raft of the Medusa / Le Radeau de la Méduse is a series within the larger body of the Bruce High Quality Foundation’s work, "History Paintings." These works recast early photographs made by the Foundation – images created through a highly unstructured, playful, collaborative model – through a Warholian factory model of gridded silkscreen on hand painted color fields. Raft of the Medusa is a 2004 photograph by the Foundation depicting a group of young anonymous artists on a makeshift raft in the East River. Either setting sail to Manhattan or landing in Brooklyn, the image, according to critic Maxwell Heller, "revel(s) in that moment on the limns," when the Foundation was first gaining recognition. Le Radeau de la Méduse is an 1818 - 1819 painting by Théodore Géricault depicting the abandoned survivors of the wreck of the naval frigate Méduse. At the top right of the painting is the distant brig Argus, which would eventually save fifteen passengers. But on the left hand side of the canvas a wave threatens to end it all. Géricault’s timely political theme and bold depiction of death earned him wide recognition. In this new series, these two images have been converted into silkscreens and sequenced in an alternating pattern. The Foundation thus collapses several models of collaborative practice: the survivalist anarchism of the original raft, the playful anarchism of their own practice, and the ironic factory of Warhol. The Bruce High Quality Foundation, an anonymous Brooklyn-based collective who named themselves after a fictional artist who perished on 9/11, have a particular talent for humor, referencing other artworks and strangely evocative juxtapositions of images, not to mention laughing at the art world generally. Our specialties include the Humanities, with an emphasis on Art, Architecture, Photography, Decorative Arts, History, as well as Periodicals related to those areas. We have very rare as well as fairly common titles. Current inventory is approximately 79,000 titles. We have about 1000' of backlog in our specialties numbering over 30,000 items (including 20,000+ smaller and ephemeral catalogues devoted to individual artist exhibitions). Current stock occupies over 2.3 miles of shelving. We are active buyers as well as very active sellers, and supply entire reference libraries as well as individual titles. We ship books almost everywhere, with the exception of China due to restrictions. Our website mullenbooks.com maintains our entire database of over 150,000 titles dynamically, so you can submit "wants" for books which are listed, but not currently in-stock. It is a major research tool. Despite what Google may indicate, we are only open to visitors by appointment, as our schedules are dynamic depending upon the needs of our valued employees.…

RETURNS: ALL RETURNS MUST BE PROCESSED THROUGH ABE. We will not initiate a return without prior ABE approval and reason for return. Books are returnable only if the condition is not as described and the return initiated within 3 days of delivery. Items 16 pages and under are not returnable for any reason. We love our books and our customers, but we simply cannot afford to be a lending reference library.

Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a Mullen Books, ABAA, Marietta, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
