Celt, the Teuton and the Gaul, have here united to mingle their blood and to produce one common stock that may be looked upon with pride as the best specimen Of the best type of that distinctive American race which is to' become the glory Of the Western Hemi sphere. [applause] I can say, truly, that. The City of Philadelphia. Has neglected its State; that while the wealth, the ability, and the enterprise Of this City have been directed beyond the State to secure the commerce of the West, the city of New York has come in through the Side door, and taken away from us the great and growing commerce of Pennsylvania. It is not alone the commerce of the West that has built up New York as against the City of Philadelphia, but. While we have been struggling to secure the evanescent. Glory of western commerce, New York City has been built up by the products of the State of Pennsylvania, which her own City has neglected. It was not SO fifty rears ago. The wise men who lived in this City in those early days projected a system Of railway communication intended to place the City of Philadelphia in connectionwith almost every developed portion of the Common wealth. The great Pennsylvania Railroad was projected to the West to connect Pittsburgh with Philadelphia; the Reading Railroad was projected to connect the Schuylkill coal fields with the City Of Philadelphia; the Sunbury and Erie Railway was surveyed in early times for the purpose of connecting the great Lakes and the commerce of those Lakes with the City of Philadelphia, so that the State Of Pennsylvania Should have its port upon the Atlantic and its port upon the Lakes. The North Penn sylvania Railroad was projected for the purpose Of reach ing northward through the mineral lands of the Lehigh V alley up to the coal fields Of the Lehigh and the Wyo ming regions.

However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.
Our team will provide full instructions on how to return your order and once received our returns department will process your refund.
Please note the cost to return any unwanted order to us is borne by the buyer.

Effetti del recesso

Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
