Neuware - 'Range Rider' is an authentic and spirited personal account of life on the American frontier, as experienced by a man who lived the cowboy way of life firsthand. Written by Bud Cowan and edited by the celebrated Western author B. M. Bower, this memoir captures the grit, humor, and daily challenges of ranching during the final decades of the open range. Cowan's narrative transports readers to the dusty trails and wide-open plains, detailing everything from the rigors of cattle drives and bronc-busting to the quiet moments of solitude under the vast Western sky.Unlike fictionalized accounts of the Wild West, 'Range Rider' provides a primary perspective on the social and economic shifts of the era. It documents the transition of the West from a lawless territory to a more settled landscape, all while maintaining the voice of a narrator who deeply understands the landscape and its livestock. This work is a valuable historical document for anyone interested in the true history of the American West, offering a window into a rugged profession that became a global symbol of freedom and resilience. Whether focused on the technical aspects of cowboying or the colorful personalities encountered along the trail, this work remains a cornerstone of Western autobiographical literature. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
